WSC Hired as Program Manager for the City of SLO’s WRRF

January 23rd, 2014

The City of San Luis Obispo hired WSC to lead one of the most highly anticipated and significant capital projects in their history: the $64 million upgrade to its Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF).  WSC, with subconsultants HDR Engineering, Inc. and RRM Design Group, will be the Program Manager for the WRRF Upgrade Project.  This multi-faceted and complex project will allow the WRRF to meet necessary regulatory requirements, increase plant capacity, and replace aged facilities that have reached the end of their service life, all while delivering triple bottom line benefits.  Scheduled to begin in February, this project is expected to be completed by 2020.

City staff commended WSC’s team and approach in their Staff Report to the City Council, stating that WSC “…effectively demonstrated a clear understanding of the City’s vision for the WRRF upgrade, exemplifying a future focus, a community connection, and a depth of understanding of the City’s wastewater system and its associated strengths and challenges.”

The Staff Report went on to say that “WSC has already demonstrated its organizational skill, creativity, and innovation that will add value to the project, incorporate triple bottom line benefits, and appropriately manage expectations.”  WSC will be holistically involved with all aspects of the facility upgrade, and accountable for program budget, schedule and quality.  WSC is honored to be selected by the City for this critical role, and is committed to making the project a success!  Collaborate. Envision. Deliver!
