OFF THE CLOCK
Antonia is the deputy project manager for the Replenish Big Bear program, a project that aims to recover water for the Big Bear community by treating its wastewater and using it to enhance water levels at multiple locations in the community. She developed a pipeline prioritization model to identify and prioritize water mains in need of rehabilitation for the California American Water Monterey County District. She has also supported two sewer rehabilitation projects for the City of Santa Barbara and is PACP, MACP, and LACP certified. She is an ASCE Pipeline San Diego Chapter officer, with her term ending in 2023.
I was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, with limited access to clean drinking water. At a young age, I experienced the repercussions of not having a reliable water supply. This motivated me to pursue a career in the water industry so I could provide safe drinking water and protect our water resources in times of drought.
When I am not at the office, I enjoy trying new foods, cooking, planning my next trip or walking my dogs. I also like spending quality time with my family and friends.
