“I’m passionate about helping our clients deliver projects and programs from concept through construction and operation. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the culmination of a team’s hard work in the physical improvements that benefit the communities where we live and work.”
OFF THE CLOCK
Justin has served as a program, project and construction manager on a diverse range of potable water, wastewater, recycled water and desalination projects in Texas and California. He has worked both as a consultant for numerous public agencies and as a supervising engineer for one of the largest municipal water districts in California, where he was responsible for managing an $80-million-dollar annual capital improvement program. Justin leverages his unique perspective from his experience in the private and public sectors to deliver value-added solutions to clients on complex water resources projects.
Early in my career, I had the opportunity to serve as a field engineer and inspector on several water and wastewater construction projects. Much of my time in the field was spent solving problems—from addressing unforeseen site conditions to resolving design conflicts—with the ultimate goal of delivering facilities that served the critical needs of public agencies and their ratepayers. By taking ownership of issues and working through them collectively with a diverse group of project team members, I gained exposure to aspects of engineering and project delivery that some engineers never get, as well as a deeper understanding and appreciation for collaborative problem solving.
These early experiences were invaluable to my development as an engineer, and built the foundation for my practical approach to problem solving and my appreciation for the role each team member plays in the delivery of complex water resources projects, from craft workers in the field to the design engineers in the office. I enjoy applying the lessons I’ve learned over the past 19 years to each new project and program, and find myself learning something new every day.
On a personal note, I enjoy spending time outside with my wife, two sons and dog. We love to camp, hike, bike and hang out at the beach as much as we can.
